The thing that is so annoying about the hipster aesthetic, and pretty much anyone who derides music based on its “authenticity” is that they’re so busy concerning themselves about being authentic that they’re contrived. Billy Joel doesn’t give a shit if you think he’s authentic or not while the almost singular concern of the hipster molding their image so precisely...
